DroSpeGe About BLAST BioMart Maps Data News

DroSpeGe*: Drosophila Species Genomes

This service provides a preview of newly sequenced Drosophila genomes, with genome maps and BLAST sequence search. Genome maps include D. melanogaster genome homology, homologies to nine eukaryote proteomes, marker gene locations, and Drosophila microsatellites. Current genome assemblies can be BLASTed, with links to genome maps of your BLAST matches. Annotation data are available in Gene Finding Format (GFF) for these whole genome comparisons.

Conditions For Use

This data is made available before scientific publication with the following understanding:

  • The data may be freely downloaded, used in analyses, and repackaged in databases.

  • Users are free to use the data in scientific papers analyzing particular genes and regions if the providers of this data are properly acknowledged. Please cite genome project web sites or publications from them referring to the genome sequence.

  • The collaborators plan to publish the assembly and genomic annotation of the datasets.

  • This is in accordance with, and with the understandings in the Fort Lauderdale meeting discussing Community Resource Projects (see http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/en/1/awtpubrepdat.html) and the resulting NHGRI policy statement (http://www.genome.gov/page.cfm?pageID=10506537).

  • Any redistribution of the data should carry this notice.
* "DroSpeGe" is pronounced like, and play on, the name of Ottorino Respighi, the Italian composer known for his symphonic poems, such as The Fountains of Rome (1917) and Roman Festivals (1929).
